How can I trust what I'm reading? We realise that it's difficult to trust everything you read on websites. What makes the Appearance Matters site different is that we provide the names and faces of our company directors.
Because we are members of UK professional bodies, we could be struck off for promoting misleading or inaccurate information. In addition, as an independent introduction and quality assurance agency, we have no interest in providing our customers with information anything less than 100ccurate.
See Who We Are for details.
Why is dental treatment cheaper in Poland? Treatment in Poland is approximately 2 - 3 times cheaper than in the UK or Ireland. As well as economic reasons, the increasing competition amongst dental clinics is intense, meaning that surgeries are offering top quality services at highly competitive prices.
See our Price Guide for details.
Will I save much by having dental treatment in Poland? On average, you’ll save between 33nd 50n UK/Ireland prices for your treatment in Poland. The greatest savings are made on crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, veneers and other more extensive treatments.
We wouldn’t recommend travelling to Poland for a simple tooth extraction or a single filling, although you might like to include these in your holiday or business package or in combination with more sophisticated dental treatment.
See our Price Guide for full details of the savings you can make by travelling with Appearance Matters.
Is there a fee for your services? Yes. Our modest fee is £175/€252 for the first week of your stay in Poland. There is a charge of £25/€38 for each subsequent day to cover essential expenditure.
See our What You Get page for a full breakdown of where your money goes.
When will I receive a confirmed quotation for my dental treatment? You can receive an estimate of the cost of your dental treatment in Poland once you have sent us a pan-oral X-ray of your mouth along with a dental assessment and your medical declaration. You will receive a full quotation only after you have visited your dentist in Poland for a consultation and examination.
The quotation will contain the proviso that there may be additional costs in the case of unforeseen problems once treatment is underway. For example, it may be impossible to tell on examination that bone is in too weak a state to receive an implant. However, this is likely to happen in less than one in twenty cases of major implant operations. It is in the dentist’s interests to minimise such surprises once a quotation has been issued. We ask you to inform us about any unexpected additional costs so that we can investigate them if required.
Please remember that unlike many of our competitors, Appearance Matters does not receive commission and as such, we have no financial interest in increasing the cost of your dental treatment.
Are your dentists qualified to carry out my dental treatment? Yes. In Poland, dentists and doctors must complete six years at medical school of which the final two years are spent working with real patients under the personal supervision of experienced dental surgeons in order to qualify. Polish dentists are also well-known for their qualifications and expertise, which is why the UK NHS has been recruiting from Poland. Polish dentists now represent the fourth largest national group working in the UK NHS general dental services. In addition, all of our dentists are registered with the Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists.
See our Dentistry page for more information.
What about materials used in dental treatments - are they good quality? Appearance Matters selects dental clinics on the basis that they are not only staffed by highly qualified dentists, but that they are also equipped with the latest technology and use the best available materials. Many such equipment and materials are also superior to those widely used in the UK and Ireland.
See Chosen Clinics for more information.
I don't speak Polish! Can I still go to Poland for dental treatment? We are confident that language will not be an issue for you on your visit to Poland. Our dentists are English speaking, as are many of their staff. Our bilingual representative in Warsaw can also be on hand to provide interpretation services if required.
What if something goes wrong after I arrive home? Occasionally complications may occur. Despite the best efforts of you and your dentist, you may get an infection. Should this happen, you should contact the Appearance Matters office immediately. We will consult your Polish dentist who will advise on the best course of action. Usually such problems can be quickly rectified by your own dentist in the UK/Ireland.
If you should need a small adjustment such as the re-cementing of a crown or adjustment of a denture, we will reimburse up to £25/€38 on receipt of your bill from a local dentist.
See our Key Benefits page for more details.
What does my guarantee cover? In line with accepted dental practice, our guarantees will be reduced or invalidated under the following circumstances:
You neglect your dental hygiene or do not follow the instructions given to you by your dentist in Poland.
You do not properly maintain removable restorations such as partial or full dentures.
You do not attend for a dental check-up at least once every 12 months.
Your gum or bone tissue is naturally declining.
You gain or lose a substantial amount of weight within a short period of time after treatment.
You have a general illness such as diabetes, epilepsy or osteoporosis; or you undergo treatment such as chemotherapy, which will jeopardise your dental condition.
You suffer a dental injury by accident, sport or any third party.
See our Guarantees page for more details
How and when do I pay? Treatment costs are paid directly to the dental clinic. Payment is normally required on the last day of your dental treatment in Poland. Clinics accept cash, all major credit/debit cards and usually traveller’s cheques.
Please note that you could incur small additional costs when using a credit card due to bank and conversion charges.
How much time do you need to arrange my visit to Poland? Usually we require a minimum of one month to organise your visit to Poland, This includes arranging your first appointment and your accommodation. If you already have your means of transport then we may be able to arrange your visit more quickly, especially in the case of dental emergencies.
Why don't you include flight ticket bookings in the price? Our customers tend to lead very busy lives and sometimes may have to reschedule departure times and appointment dates. If you book your flights yourself, this makes the process easier and also lowers our prices.
What does the free transfer include? We will provide all of your transfers to and from the airport or station and to and from the clinic and your hotel.
See our What You Get page for details of our support schemes.
What does the free consultation include? You will receive a free, one-day dental visit to Warsaw worth £140/€200 which includes:
Assistance with flight booking
Being greeted by our bilingual representative at the airport
Free transfer between airport and dental clinic
Free consultation
Free panoramic X-ray
Free detailed and written quotation
Your only costs will be the flight tickets. Please note that you are under no obligation to undergo treatment after using our free consultation service.
See the Free Consultation page for more details.
You're cheaper than some of your competitors. Why is this? We believe that our scheme is the best in the market. By positioning our website well, we believe that the Appearance Matters services will attract high numbers of customers. Therefore, we need a smaller profit margin per individual patient than our competitors.
Can't I just contact the clinic directly to arrange my treatment? We cannot place any barrier between you and the dental clinics we have inspected. However, it is highly probable that the clinic will refer you back to us, as the whole scheme has been designed to be of benefit to four parties: you, your dentist in the UK/Ireland, your Polish dentist and Appearance Matters.
Should you choose to contact the clinic yourself, Appearance Matters will be within its rights to make a surcharge or refuse to handle your request.
See the Key Benefits page for more details.
